DES Role Play

He knew that Jack had a point – staying up and working for hours on end was less than productive, and now that Jack had brought it up, he realised that he did feel rather sleepy.
“I suppose you have a point,” he began, wanting to say something else additionally but not wanting to reiterate. Luckily, Jack spoke before he had too much time to worry about it.
“Great! Let’s play chess before you go to bed then.” he beamed, rocking back and forth a little, still perched precariously on the windowsill.
“…what?”
Oswald had not expected this.
“Jack, you told me to retire to bed. Why are you suggesting that we play chess instead, is that not simply prolonging staying up instead of resting?”
Jack nodded seriously.
“I can see why one might think that, but trust me!”
Oswald raised an eyebrow. Trust, huh?

“Jack,” he protested weakly, to no avail, as Jack simply slid his hand into Oswald’s, and linked their fingers together.
“One game,” Jack said firmly, proceeding to tug Oswald out of the door.  
“And then you will let me continue with my work?”
“And then you are going to bed. Don’t stay up so late.”
